The AMDCD started by parishioners as a Mexican dinner in 1974 at Frisco, TX to raise funds for a starting parish, St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church.  Today a meal celebration that served around 100 people has evolved into a FREE community-wide fellowship event that entertains over 2,000 people every year in September.  The community event is organized and managed by volunteer parishioners where live music, dance performances, children activities, "Hot Tamales" car show, petting zoo and an SPCA pet adoption truck give life to the folklore of the event. Local community restaurants and businesses sponsor the event.  The FREE festival is open to the public, and all are welcome.
